Your Personalized Birth
Walk into your birth feeling calm, supported, and confident. You know your care has been designed around you, not a standard protocol.
We’ve created a space for the kind of birth you envision, whether that’s a peaceful, low-intervention experience or the reassurance of additional medical support close at hand. Together, we shape a plan that feels safe, thoughtful, and aligned with your values and goals.
Advantage of Doctor Support
Most birth centers are midwife-only. At Birthing Your Way, you have the option of doctor support without switching providers or transferring care.
Your primary care is still led by our midwives. Our physician is available when needed, or when requested. This gives you more flexibility and reassurance while keeping the personalized, relationship-based approach of midwifery.
What This Means for You
You can choose how much medical support you want without having to choose between holistic care and medical expertise. This approach gives you continuity of care, even if your needs change along the way.
When Doctor Support Matters
Physician involvement can be helpful for families who:
- Want an added layer of medical reassurance during pregnancy or birth
- Have higher-risk or more complex pregnancies
- Need prescriptions or specific medical interventions
How Doctor Support Works
Doctor involvement is always discussed with you and tailored to your preferences. Some families prefer a physician available only if needed, while others choose a more active role during pregnancy or birth.
Physician support is available for an additional $1,000, which includes collaborative care as part of your birth plan.
Regardless of your choice, your care remains midwife-led. The physician’s role is to complement your care, not replace it.
Examples of Physician Support
Examples of Physician Support:
- Consultation for complex or higher-risk pregnancies
- Prescriptions and medication management
- Advanced interventions when appropriate
- Managing certain complications without immediate hospital transfer
- On-site consultation or participation in labor or birth when needed
Comfort & Pain Management Options
Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas)
Nitrous oxide is a gentle, fast-acting option for pain and anxiety relief during labor. It can take the edge off contractions while allowing you to remain awake, mobile, and in control.
Sterile Water Injections (for Back Labor)
Sterile water injections are a non-medicated option that can help relieve intense back labor. A small injection in the lower back may provide significant pain relief and can be especially helpful for persistent back pain or posterior babies.
TENS unit
A TENS unit is a non-medicated pain relief option that uses gentle electrical stimulation to help reduce labor discomfort, especially during early or back labor, while allowing you to stay mobile and in control.
Labor & Birth Support Tools
Birth ball, peanut ball, birth stool, supportive pillows and mats, squat supports, adjustable bed, rebozo, massage and counterpressure tools, warm/cool compresses and towels, dim lighting, music options, aromatherapy and more!
Home Birth
For some families, home is where they feel safest, most relaxed, and most in control. Giving birth in a familiar space can create a sense of calm, privacy, and comfort that supports the natural flow of labor.
Home birth is available on a case-by-case basis at Birthing Your Way.
Water Birth
Babies spend months in a fluid environment and being born in water offers a gentle transition into the world.
At Birthing Your Way, you’re welcome to labor or give birth in our luxurious birth tubs.
Water birth can ease pain, reduce tension, support movement and positioning, and create a calmer, more controlled experience for both you and your baby.
